Two weeks ago, three members of our team went to Las Vegas to participate in the fifth Magento Imagine conference. I talked to each of our team members, Manager of Client Relations, Jeremy Jones, Manager of Solutions Delivery, Amanda Dolan, and VP of Solutions Delivery, Deb Longacre, about what made them excited, what they thought our clients would benefit from, and what these changes mean for Magento and your company.
Here’s the 5 things you must know coming out of the Magento Imagine Conference:
Magento 2 Enterprise Cloud: This was a shared excitement point for our team. But, what does it mean.
“I think this is a real differentiator for some of the larger scale clients in the future and gives developers and clients the combination of the partnership they need with a hosting provider that has 24/7 application and infrastructure support. It is an amazing solution and I was super excited by the announcement.”
Amanda Dolan, Manager of Solutions Delivery
Product Management Improvements: While the platform has previously relied heavily on plugins and extensions, many of the Magento 2 improvements we are seeing are built right into the new platform, creating a better out-of-the-box experience.
Overall Performance Improvements for Users: Magento 2 features enhancements which simplify the checkout process in turn increasing sales. These include an out-of-the-box, one-page checkout and simplify credit card usage by preselecting your card type based on the card number. Customer’s want the best experience and we all know that if we build a great experience, people are going to be abandoning the cart less.
B2B Focus: A new focus that is important for the customers considering Magento 2 as an commerce solution is that the platform is now focused on being a B2B solution with the new enterprise edition model. eCommerce in B2B world has long been underserved and now Magento has a strong module catering to B2B market.
“The Magento Enterprise Edition B2B Module provides a flexible, cost effective commerce solution for a largely underserved market. We’re excited to explore the new opportunities this provides our clients, especially those courting challenging niche buyers.”
