A Throwback with the Weidenhammer Creative Teams

posted by: Weidenhammer Creative on October 14, 2016

Everyone starts somewhere, including the Weidenhammer Creative team. Once upon a time, well before Kyle’s epic beard or anyone’s tattoos, the team was just a bunch of little kids with dreams and great 80’s and 90’s haircuts. To complement our #throwbackthursday campaign we’ve been posting to our social media platforms, we decided to ask our team two questions. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?  And What do you think your younger self would think about what you do now?

Devon Beck, Web Development Manager

devon

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? As a kid I wanted to be either an architect or an animator.

What do you think younger Devon would think of what current Devon does? I think I’d say “what is this magical thing you sit in front of every day?” for context, I did not grow up with computers.

Francesca Farrissi, Graphic Designer
 fran

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? An artist, an art teacher, a fashion designer, an animator, an actress, a singer, a writer, a movie director, a mother, but not an astronaut although that was cool, a poet, and a humanitarian. I was a very vibrant child.

What do you think younger Francesca would think of what current Francesca does?
“I’m overall pretty pleased, but by the time I’m 50 I’d like to hit 100%, I think based on what I’ve already done so far, that’s pretty doable.”

Curtis Johnson, VP of Creative Services

curtis

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be either an artist or a politician.

What do you think younger Curtis would think of what current Curtis does? He’d definitely wonder why I have to be on the phone so much.

Kyle Huntzinger, Graphic Designer
kyle

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be an artist.

What do you think younger Kyle would think of what current Kyle does? I’d think it was frickin’ awesome.

Emily Poché, Project Manager
emily

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? Either the president, or a TV cooking show host.

What do you think younger Emily would think of what current Emily does? First of all, she’d be pretty disappointed in the lack of Working Girl style shoulder-pad power suits. But she’d probably like that she gets to be creative all day—and I talk out loud all day so it’s like my coworkers are forced to listen to my TV show.

Cory Mensch, Senior Web Developer
cory

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? Can I say ‘a kid?’ Actually, I don’t remember what I wanted to be as a kid. I’m going to say that I want to grow up to be an astronaut now.

What do you think younger Cory would think of what current Cory does? I’d say ‘what is the internet?’

Jeremy Jones, Manager of Client Relations

jeremy

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? An architect, bur then I realized that I couldn’t do math well. There’s a lot of math required for that. And then also an archaeologist because I loved dinosaurs and the idea of discovering completely new civilizations, but then I realized they’ve already done most of that.

What do you think that younger Jeremy would think of what current Jeremy does? I’d honestly be a little disappointed. Being a client relations manager has exactly 0 dinosaurs involved.

Lee Gustin, Senior Web Developer

lee

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I didn’t know what I wanted to be until I was in high school, and then I wanted to develop video games.

What do you think younger Lee would think of what current Lee does? Since I ended up becoming a developer, I don’t think he’d be too shocked about that. But in high school I would be pretty shocked that I go on to marry Jackie.

Ryan Lynn, Design Manager
*Muppet Reenactment*

 unknown

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I kind of wanted to be an artist.

What do you think younger Ryan would think of what current Ryan does now? Yeah there are a lot fewer markers involved in what I’m doing now. Also I didn’t think I’d have to answer so many questions.
