Weidenhammer Creative Blends Video and Interactive for the National Board of Professional Teachers

Created to showcase the key document prescribing the most effective methodology for teachers, Weidenhammer Creative partnered with the National Board of Professional Teachers to build their ‘What Teachers Should Know and Be Able to Do’ site.

This is a particularly important project for the Weidenhammer Creative team, as it was the first collaborative project between the creative and video teams working from the same location.

The project featured a video of National Board Certified teachers embedded in a site dedicated to the “What Teachers Should Know and Be Able to Do” document. After an edit to the text, a web presence was created to make the information in the document more compelling and interactive for the digital age.

The design of the site was created with content in mind. In order to keep readers engaged while reading through a many-page long document, visual elements were incorporated into the text. Large quotations, photos, and small animations appear throughout the document, keeping readers engaged. Design also created correlating color schemes, so that chapters would be easily distinguishable at a glance.

Video integration was an important element of the design as well. Located on the front page, so that visitors to the site would be able to view it immediately, it gives compelling testimonies from National Certified Teachers as to the importance of the organization. The video featured color and design elements that recurred across the page, tying it into the site design seamlessly. The video was also shot in 4K resolution, and featured unscripted, honest interviews with passionate teachers. It only enhanced the narrative started by the site about the important impact the document has on teachers, students, and administrators.

“We had the pleasure of applying a storyteller style to the video to help the National Board get their message about their Five Core Propositions across. It was also a great to see a video weave so seamlessly into one of our website projects,” said Matt Liotti, Weidenhammer’s Video Producer.
