On Saturday, January 5th 2013, 4O1! will be competing in Ice Cream Wars 5.0 hosted by the Da Vinci Science Center. This annual event features companies from the Lehigh Valley battling to make a flavor of ice cream that will win over the voters, who just so happen to be visitors that want to join in on the fun and taste-test samples. But don’t expect to see your average ice cream making appliance, this scientific treat will be frozen using liquid nitrogen.
Team 4O1! took home the coveted trophy from last year’s Ice Cream Wars 4.0 so everyone is eager to defend the championship. As a new member of 4O1!, I’m excited to participate, especially after seeing the collaborative competitiveness of my team members. Last week, we all gathered ‘round for a meeting to discuss our flavor for this year’s competition. Ultimately, our team agreed “if it’s not broke, don’t fix it,” and we decided to add a twist to last year’s winning flavor.
Ice Cream Wars 5.0 is open to the public from 11am-2:30pm and will be held January 5th at the Da Vinci Science Center. If you like ice cream -and who doesn’t like ice cream?- join us and companies such as Just Born, LSI, and The Morning Call for a tasty afternoon. You can purchase tickets that day at the Da Vinci Center, or for free admission, contact Sam at 610.871.0490.
